Proclear Compatible Toric Lenses
Into The Comfort Zone
Proclear compatible toric lenses
are designed for contact lens users who have comfort issues with
eyewear. If you find that your eyes are drying out during the day,
especially if you work in a computer friendly environment where
the climate is strictly controlled. Proclear compatible toric lenses
are designed to keep a layer of water around the lens all day long,
irrespective of the work environment that you work in.
If you are interested in the science involved,
the phosphorylcholine (PC) molecules (a substance found naturally
in the human body) in Proclear Compatibles, attract water to their
surface, retaining the water within the molecules. Hydration is
maintained courtesy of the liquid shielding the lenses. Consequently,
proclear compatible toric lenses feel comfortable all day long,
even towards the end of the day in the most demanding of work environments.
These lenses offer distinct advantages because
they are the only contact lenses made with PC. Because the material
exists in human tissue, the presence of PC in cells helps prevent
reactions your eyes might have had with with other materials from
which different contact lenses are made. Because Proclear Compatibles
contain PC, the lenses are less likely to be rejected by your eyes.
They are resistant to protein deposits, which are the bane of many
contact lens wearers, since the protein creates a film on the lenses
which has to be chemically removed to maintain the quality of your
vision.
Speaking from a personal point of view, I
tried lenses many years ago, and just could not get on with them.
I tried both hard and soft lenses, and whilst soft lenses were marginally
more comfortable, I was stuck with the same problem with both types
of lens. Discomfort. Some days I could survive to the end of the
day, but on the majority of the days, my eyes looked like I had
spent a week in a pub - without the fun of having a drink! It was
hardly fair.
So, in the end, my lenses were used only when
I played sport. And when that stopped, then so did the lenses.
But if I had Proclear compatible toric lenses
as an option then, perhaps the story would have been very different?
